Andrew Balcombe


Andrew is a Director of Strettons with a background in valuation, Leasehold Reform and Expert Witness work since the early 1980s. Andrew has been a Chartered Surveyor for over 35 years with an extremely wide and varied range of work. He has the ability to use his expertise and experience to a multitude of property issues. 

Andrew spent his first 25 years of his career specialising in lease advisory work mainly in London and South East England on office and other commercial property culminated with being appointed to RICS panel of Arbitrators and Experts handling rent review disputes.

In 2005, he changed his career to concentrate on the residential market and now has expertise in all matters relating to the valuation of such properties including; leasehold reform, expert witness and lease advisory. 

In his spare time, Andrew is a Rugby fan where he is a season ticket holder at Wasps (formerly of London), as well as Cricket and football. He has strong City connections having recently been the Master of his City Livery Company.

Areas of Expertise
  • Leasehold Reform: The assessment a premium payable for lease extensions, collective enfranchisements, and freehold sales. Appears in tribunals both as Advocate and Expert Witness.
  • Expert Witness: Acting as Joint Sole Expert as well as for either Claimant or Defendants in cases involving residential property and providing evidence in court where appropriate.
  • RICS Appointments: Being appointed as arbitrator by the Dispute Resolution Service of the RICS in relation to rent review disputes.
  • Lease Advisory: Advising occupiers and owners on rent review and lease renewals on all types of property.
