Neal MatthewsBSC MRICSDirector Industrial Agency
Based in Leytonstone, Neal is a Director and Head of Industrial Agency at Strettons. He joined Strettons in 1999 from Henry Butcher, following eight years with the Jones Lang LaSalle research department.
Neal has wide-range of experience in institutional property appraisal, valuation, acquisition and disposal - especially industrial properties.
He has been involved in many ex-industrial land sales to residential and commercial developers, acting for both the public and private sectors. His expertise has been called upon by both private and public sectors to act as Expert Witness in CPO Tribunals, Planning Inquiries and High Court cases.
Neal has provided expert development advice to many private sector developers, financial institutions and occupiers as well as the public sector, including London Development Agency, London Thames Gateway Development Corporation, London Boroughs of Tower Hamlets, Haringey, Newham, Barking & Dagenham and Harlow District Council and Epping Town Council.
He and his team are currently working with a number of owners and/or occupier clients in the regeneration of Hackney Wick & Fish Island by putting in place a commercial property strategy to ensure future best value for owners.
Neal is a keen long distance runner and a poor tennis player. The running enables Neal to indulge in fine eating and fine (if cheap) wine. A combination of running, food and wine tends towards heavy sleep but never during work hours.
