When appointed, the site was occupied by the borrower and various short-term tenants and occupiers. This posed difficulties during viewings of the property and deterred some purchasers, making achieving a sale even harder, particularly owing to the increased delays in possession proceedings following the lockdown during the Coronavirus Pandemic in 2020. ​

​There were also the challenges of dealing with freezing orders and existing option agreements relating to part of the site. ​

​This case demonstrated our ability to work on complicated sites with numerous issues and work closely with solicitors to achieve the right results for lenders. ​

​We sold the site using a local agent but were closely involved to navigate a difficult market in the aftermath of the first national lockdown in the spring of 2020.
