Lockdown Sale of Farm, Buckinghamshire

Property:

Development site of circa 65 acres in Aston Sandford, Buckinghamshire with a mixture of agricultural, commercial and residential use.

When appointed, the site was occupied by the borrower and various short-term tenants and occupiers. This posed difficulties during viewings of the property and deterred some purchasers, making achieving a sale even harder, particularly owing to the increased delays in possession proceedings following the lockdown during the Coronavirus Pandemic in 2020.

There were also the challenges of dealing with freezing orders and existing option agreements relating to part of the site.

This case demonstrated our ability to work on complicated sites with numerous issues and work closely with solicitors to achieve the right results for lenders.

We sold the site using a local agent but were closely involved to navigate a difficult market in the aftermath of the first national lockdown in the spring of 2020.
