Commercial Agency Recognised in 2023 EG Rankings

The EG Rankings for 2023 were officially announced, and our commercial agency teams and industrial & logistics agency are thrilled to be recognised as top contributors in London across office and all sectors for occupational sales and industrial lettings.

The criteria for these awards included the volume of exchanges and square footage transacted. Our rankings as the top contributors are a clear indication of our consistent performance and personalised approach.

Commenting on the owner-occupier sales, City Commercial Agency Director, Mark Bolton, expressed his delight at the awards, stating, "We are proud of what we have achieved. During the early part of last year, I wrote an article highlighting 2023 as being a real opportunity for owner occupier purchasers of commercial property. 

• Opportunity in terms of taking advantage of the re-pricing of commercial assets.
• Opportunity in terms of the variety and volume of particularly sub-10,000 sq ft office buildings in the market offered either vacant, part vacant or subject to short income.
• Opportunity in terms of buying in a market that has never offered such a level playing field as we have now by virtue of such weak and cautious commercial investor appetite.

As we all know, 2023 wasn't plain sailing for the commercial property market. The ramping up of base rates and borrowing costs proved challenging for owner-occupiers and investors alike. 

That said, Strettons' transactional teams have seen far stronger volumes of enquiries from owner occupiers in 2023 than we've experienced in recent years.

The transaction volumes are still modest overall and these stats won't capture short income investments being acquired for future or part owner occupation, but demand from owner occupiers remains an important and active slice of the market."
